HARRIS IN THE CITY… 7 PARK ROW, LEEDS
Work is progressing well on our current £7 million contract for CBRE for the Refurbishment of the former regional head office of Lloyd’s Bank to provide nine storeys of Grade A standard office accommodation, with a shell space for a new restaurant on the ground floor.
The completion of two floors, complete with segregated access, to enable marketing to commence is anticipated by Christmas 2017
LIGHTING UP THE TOWN
Practical completion was recently secured on an impressive £3.4 million new development at Rectory Lane, Guisborough, for Ryedale Estates Limited
This design and build project provides three no retail units, in one building, two workshop units and a landscaped car park for c.200 cars. The retail units are for occupation by Marks & Spencer, B&M and Pets at Home.
BREWING UP SUCCESS FOR HEINEKEN
One of the six fermenting vessels, each of which can hold approximately 450,000 litres (or 790,000 pints) during the brewing process, is lifted into position on our current contract for Heineken at their Manchester brewery on Denmark Road.
Our works involve the erection of a structural steel structure that will now support six giant fermenting vessels, which are amongst the largest in the world. The project will involve the erection of 160 tonnes of steel.
Confronting a Serious Issue
Harris were pleased to meet the Leeds Citizens for the first time recently and we look forward to supporting their commitment to Mindful Employer and “The Charter for Employers who are Positive about Mental Health”. The Construction News has recently raised awareness of mental health among construction professionals, an issue that we believe needs addressing. Hopefully, we can play our part.
We were subsequently pleased to show a party from Leeds Citizens around our current project at 7 Park Row, in Leeds……and our site team were thankful for the gift of a selection of doughnuts provided by “The Citizens”!!!

HCM INTERIORS IN THE KITCHEN
Members of the project delivery team at hcm interiors have taken the opportunity to gain experience “on the front line” at one of the restaurants previously completed.
At Nando’s Herten Way outlet at Doncaster Lakeside, Damion Beedle, Danny Rankin and Josh Dacres spent a shift helping the kitchen staff cook and serve the signature chicken-based dishes.
hcm interiors Managing Director, Jason Beedle said: “We strive to provide an excellent environment, for both Nando’s customers and their staff and it struck me that there could be no better lesson for our site team than to actually put down their tools and spend a shift helping the Nando’s team do what they do best”.
